The Eucharist, limited edition giclee print on fine art paper
This piece is based on a true and yet universal story! When I was a girl, my family lived in a two-family house. Our downstairs neighbors were transplants from the south (Alabama) and owned the home. We were all like family, spending lots of time together. On one of our visits, our neighbor was preparing vegetables as she was often doing. She was slicing turnips and asked me if I wanted to try them. I did and I really enjoyed it. It was such a simple moment, but lives in my mind as if it were yesterday.
Many people have told me the house dress/muumuu the neighbor is wearing reminds them of a mother, grandmother, or auntie. I love that something so ordinary can transport and connect us!
